Feather Eyes is an exploration of vision, identity, and the extraordinary complexity hidden within the act of seeing. A pair of luminous eyes holds the composition while an intricate world of feathers radiates outward, transforming the face into something simultaneously human, animal, and imagined.
Color moves almost like a visual language across the work. Turquoise, sapphire, emerald, violet, crimson, magenta, coral, gold, amber, and softer ivory tones weave through hundreds of feathered forms. Some contain markings that resemble eyes; others conceal small shapes and unexpected details, creating layers of discovery that continue the longer the viewer looks.
Yet the eyes remain remarkably still. Surrounded by such abundance and movement, their direct gaze creates a quiet center. The contrast gives Feather Eyes its emotional power: the viewer is looking at the artwork while, somehow, the artwork seems to be looking back.
There is no single world contained within Feather Eyes. Human and natural forms merge, color becomes plumage, and one kind of vision seems to multiply into many. What begins as a face gradually becomes an invitation to look closer—and to question how much can exist beyond what we notice at first glance.
